Greetings From The Head Of School

The MSOFX Philosophy

The team working at MSoFX is deeply committed to offering an environment where children may grow into caring, respectful, responsible adults; lifelong learners and problem solvers. Our school prides itself in delivering to our students the Montessori philosophy and Method to the best of our abilities. In the span of two decades, we have grown from a single classroom of thirteen students to a community of six classrooms with 130 annual enrollments.

We believe that parents, and the environment they create at home, are the chief educational influences in the life of the child. As a school, we want to be with you in discovering who your child is and what their needs are, as they enter into the adventures of life. It is our goal to help your child become a creative and competent human being, who is fully aware of him or herself, of others and of the world around them.

Other goals include love of learning, self-motivation, increased self-esteem, persistence and concentration, habits of inner discipline and order.

To realize these goals, we have created MSOFX a place where children can be themselves in an atmosphere of freedom and responsibility. It is a place where little ones will come joyfully, become absorbed in and interested in their learning.

Parents are brought into this atmosphere as much as possible through a host of interesting activities. Often friendships made in this “family” will last a lifetime. Please accept this invitation to join us in this educational adventure.

The educational policies of the school are the responsibilities of the Educational Directress. It is her task to give guidance and inspiration to the faculty. She is ready to answer parent inquiries and welcomes the many visitors who are interested in our programs and observe the classes in action.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Montessori School of Fairfax is to provide the right learning environments for each stage of a child’s development as they progress through our school. We adhere to the guiding principles of the Montessori Method, are dedicated to providing education that fosters engaging children who love to learn and who are happy and respectful of others, and who show compassion in a world full of diverse ideologies.

OUR STORY

MSOFX was founded in 1997 by S.P. Amiri who was passionate about bringing the Montessori philosophy to the Chantilly community. At that time, Ms. Amiri had experience as a child educator in various developmental capacities; from teaching students with physical disabilities (hearing and vision impairments), working in a classroom environment with preschool to Kindergarten aged children, and steering a committee of colleagues in building and overseeing the curriculum for preschool and Kindergarten students in Tehran, Iran. Ms. Amiri’s vast experience with children made her keenly aware of inadequacies she saw in some of the schools in our community, especially in the surrounding preschools. After receiving her Montessori training, she was determined to offer parents an affordable option to traditional schooling. Furthermore, she made it her mission to educate and teach the parents about practicing the Montessori philosophy at home and incorporating the Montessori Method into their lifestyles.

Montessori School of Fairfax is accredited by AMS, COGNIA, members of VCPE, and Full School Member with IMC (International Montessori Council)
Our teaching staff is the most important element in our program. They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge about nurturing children and engaging them in Montessori practices.
